And even though she doesn't really edit with game footage anymore, I can't help but be captivated, no matter what footage is used; that, to me, is a real gift. I mean, I start to care and feel for fandoms I've never even heard of through her stuff, and that's spectacular.

She was one of the first people I considered as my inspirations, and when we became friends I realized that she's not only amazingly gifted, but she's really nice and a total sweetheart. Unfortunately, Jenn isn't well-known yet on YouTube, though her videos are in the 'most beautiful I've ever seen' category. One of her RiKai videos literally brought me to tears, which doesn't happen often with me. But everything is just...I can't breathe when I watch her work. I literally have to hold my breathe because I'm afraid of making a sound to disturb what I'm seeing.

Well, for me I'd have to say...

1. Seshyria
This person deserves way more credit for her videos. They are so dark and so unique and inventive! I think she is definitely an inspiration because, I'll admit, most of my videos are very depressing.

2. ChaoticStory
Her videos are mindblowing! Not to mention masking=flawless. She is also very good at adding dialogue in her videos without adding too much and taking away from it.

3. FantasiesGhost
I love the flow and the coloring of her videos and the uniqueness behind most of them! I've been watching her vids for about a year now, a little before she made that video for katethegreat.

4. MissAlyvia
Masking=Flawless, Colouring= Flawless, Videos overall=Flawless, need I say more?

5. BabyFantasiaxx
Her videos are so unique (See a trend going on?) and provoke such emotion! Her "Lit Stairway" Video made me bawl like a baby That's not easy for me, I didn't even cry during titanic! The coloring and masking are also very well done!

OF course I look her up for flawless masking.....but that's just part of the reason, she's....an amazing leader. Being good at editing is one thing but being good at leading studio is another thing O_O (OnlyDoylie and Clover's awsome leader too but I couldn't have chance to work with them...so I don't know how they lead) But as a fellow LHS leader and as members of dozen of other studios....I've never met a better leader than her. I've tried learning AE4, I thought to myself "Hey I taught myself Sony Vegas, how hard could it be?"............I was dead wrong OTL and it's not just how they play with the program....even if you know how to use all the program, that's just one tool.....all the effects came out of their head!! My head just don't work like that!!! (Even if it does, I can't make it come out because I can't use the program and my videos usually don't come out the way I want it to-_-)

My Editor Inspirations

(These are not in any particular order)

1-- MinasPassion: From the beginning, Mina has astonished me with the amount of emotion and expression that she puts into her videos. Ive always been able to visually see how she puts everything of herself into each video she uploads. Not only is her passion an inspiration to me, but also her range of talents. She can work with After Effects so well, and it certainly makes me excited to learn how to use it in college soon. Her colours, effects, masking, and storytelling abilities shock me time and time again, and I love how that I am still pleasantly surprised with everything that I see. Also, she is one of the nicest editors I know. I remember back when I was starting LHS and I wanted to invite her in as a member, I was absolutely terrified to message her, because I looked up to her so much and I was afraid she would think I was just a noob xD I was wrong. Mina, you were one of my very first editing-inspirations when I started editing a couple of years ago, and you still are today.

2-- EmoLobster: The wisest, sweetest, and most genuine lobster on the planet. I have always been inspired by her videos, from the very beginning when I was just an observer and not an editor. Her abilities with colouring, masking, emotion, intensity, always make my jaw-drop. I swear, Ive been trying to teach mysely the "Lobbie-Colouring-System" as I call it xD but I fail. Her imagination for storylines has always amazed me, as she comes up with things I never would have thought about! It really makes me want to expand my own storyline ideas for videos, and try to reach beyond the norm and do something completely unique. Not only is she an inspiration for vidding, but she is so nice, that if she ever did say something even remotely negative, she apologizes within a heartbeat! XD You have always put up with me and my rants-of-the-day. You inspire me to be a better person, as well as to be a better editor. I thank you, and I bow to the wisest lobster on the planet.

3-- Clover27: My masking inspiration. She was the reason I wanted to learn to mask at all. Sure, I had seen masking done before, but there was always just something about the way Clover did it that took my breath away. Even though she doesn't edit with Final Fantasy much anymore, I still consider her one of my idols and inspirations.

4-- TheSylphOne:My After Effects + effects inspiration. I swear, I will probably never have the patience or the imagination to come up with some of the things I have seen from her, but watching her videos is always so awe-inspiring. Each video encourages me to get my butt in gear and start learning how to use the programs. She uses quite a few programs when working on a single video, and that feat in itself is respect-worthy. Id love to be able to get more into effect-editing, and she is definately my inspiration that will hopefully get me there one day.

5-- DarfMarf: What can I say? This girl is just talented at everything. Normally an editor has a specialty, but this girl can edit flow, effects, masking, colourful, emotional, fast-paced, slow-paced, and on top of all that her imagination for stories and settings just blow me away every time. I would love to be this diverse in my own editing, and DarfMarf's videos is where I turn too when I am in need of a kick in the head to get my imagination-juices flowing!

6-- windyangel: I still remember when I first saw this girl's videos. I was impressed with her abilities at timing, colouring, and masking. And I was absoltuely stunned when I saw that she had only been editing for a couple of months at the time I had seen her videos. To be able to edit like that so soon, when one hadn't done editing before, was so shocking and impressive to me, that I decided to keep an eye on her. She has so much raw talent, and she has improved so quickly over such a short amount of time, I am proud to call her one of my inspirations. She inspires me in that she keeps trying, always wants to learn and get better. It makes me want to improve myself also, because I am reminded that no one will ever reach an end with editing. Unless we get bored of it, there is always another goal, another accomplishment to reach. Vidding is a passion, not simply a hobby. I can see this fresh passion in every video windy brings to YouTube, and I sincerely hope she continues on to edit for a long time. And I know she sometimes feels that she does not deserve a place in LHS, but she is so very wrong. She belongs with us because of all of these reasons. She is so talented now, I can hardly imagine how awesome she will be in time to come.

queenofamerica - Probably the biggest reason I really got into this hobby, and, years ago when I was still CaptainMuggie (and she was Bahnree), she was one of my very first subscribers. Not to mention my first YT friend. She doesn't edit anymore, and while her videos may not be as "HOMG AMAZING" as some others, they all have such wonderful heart to them.

DoubleTreble1518 - I only recently discovered these girls, and was completely blown away by their vids. Everything they do it beautifully put together and creative, and they really make me want to get back into some editing with live action stuff. Their "Beauty & the Jedi" vid was a big part of the inspiration for my "Sonnet 71".

MinasPassion - Another more recent one, I'm constantly amazed by how beautiful her videos are. Her sweetness and positively flawless editing keep inspiring me to work harder and improve/expand my own editing skills.

Resk31 - Hands down, the BIGGEST influence on my editing style. Like queenofamerica, Resk was one of my first introduction to the world of AMVs, and even now I still rewatch his videos and think "how did he do that?!". The timing and flow of every video is just perfect and amazingly cinematic. Sadly my favorite of his videos is only uploaded on AMV.org, but still.

ChaoticStory

The way she manages to combine effects, transitions, and clips to the rhythm and beat of the song and her skill in each of these individually never ceases to astound me. Especially when it comes to extremely fast paced songs.

Story, emotion, and skill in editing. There are so many reasons I look up to this Editor that it would probably take me forever to name them all.

Like both MissAlyvia and ChaoticStory, I'm just amazed by this person's skill. Both with the individual aspects, but also with the way the combine it all together.

Like with the others, this one inspires me with both skill and an excellent attitude. Her use of effects, transitions, masking as well as the pan & crop feature never fail to create amazing things. I especially like how she can make her videos look downright spooky.

My biggest inspiration is, and will always be Azuraan. For many reasons: her masking is beautiful and convincing, she is VERY creative and makes videos in a beautiful way, she knows how to combine colors/fonts and clips. She is truly a very complete editor!

I also love the work of MelinasPassion, Feta19, EmoLobster, MissAlyvia [b]and Brokedown[/b]. They are amazing editors, with epic stories and a very unique way of making videos ^^

He is my inspiration, the actual reason why I started editing in the first place. I admired his videos back on his previous account "xXCloudAngelXx". When his first account was closed I was devastated and I thought I lost him, till I found his new account, new videos; etc. I'm just so sad I never got the chance to meet him, always watched and admired from the distance but never built up the courage to say a simple "hello" or something. I still watch his 10 -12 videos up to this day and I still wonder.."WOW, how did he do that". He still remains my inspiration and continues to inspire me even though he doesn't edit anymore. My style developed for having OCD over his GMVs. LOL

The basic ability to persevere. Of course her masking is amazing, but what I look at is the ability to do it in the first place. I've been watching her since "Christinavideos", and I was still inspired by her then. When she made the whole "The Time Traveler's Wife" trailer. It was so beautiful and held so much emotion! Ever since then and before i've been watching her, but from a distance like an innocent bystander. c:

She is so just ubberly skilled at editing. Her flow and timing is just impeccable and I love her use of scenes and the colors she tends to use.

Flow! That is one thing I love about her editing. Is the amazing flow that she possesses. Of course it's been almost a year since her last FF upload but same as cloudvampire, I still watch them and I'm still just as amazed as I was a year ago.

AE!!! After effects!! They're so amazing at it. The furthest i've managed to do is start a new composition. Nothing a little practice can't help, I mean look where they've gotten with that program now! I was inspired by TheSylphOne's Electroshock video.. or a name similar to that, I know it had shock in it.. Anyways the way she thanked each and everyone of her subscribers by basically putting their names in the video! I thought that was true dedication and it had gorgeous colors!

ANOTHER one of my biggest influences. I watched her tutorials, I tried to learn as much as I could from her. I admired her videos and everything. Until her account closed, her back-up closed as well. It was a tragic loss to the FF community. Her editing still lives on in our thoughts! I think she has a gametrailers account, I'll have to check that out to see if her work is still there.

He was so nice and helped me out with SO many things, he helped me with Vegas and we became mutual friends. I watched his work before I started editing, admiring his timing and wondering one day I'll be able to do that. Now when I talk to him, he tells me he looks up to me as an editor as well as a friend. The feelings that I felt when he said that were unexplainable. It's amazing what can happen with hope and faith. :)

I've always loved her username, I thought it was unique. I also loved the emotion and song choices she uses for her videos. They're so smooth and the way she edits just fits them perfectly. The way she talks too, so calm and nice. It make me happy to see how much passion she puts into every comment she leaves. Her editing and mindset is truly a huge influence on me c:

I think of her as the cookie cutter queen! The way she uses it is so colorful and smooth! Her timing is on tact and her typography is just breathtaking. She uploads weekly so I can continue to watch her videos as time progresses and on repeat !

MinasPassion

I actually watched Mina for quiet some time, I remember there was an MEP. (I'm not sure if she was in it, or if it was on her channel) but it had Yuna and Auron and this, older love type situation. I mean the story behind it was just great! Plus her more recent uploads are just so amazing and they show hoe much effort and passion she truly puts into her work. "MinasPassion" Ha xD

Those are the editors that continue to keep me going and strive to persevere times where I just want to quit and give up. I'm truly thankful for each and one of them because without them I feel like I wouldn't edit the way I do today.

Wow! A GREAT topic indeed. Well...I have a list of editors

CreativityBrilliance - I know most of you have seen her Pieces of Cloud Video right? The emotion, the audio clips, the clips sync with such a sad, beautiful yet haunting song. It was such an inspiration to me. That video nearly had me in tears and I still watch it. The rest of her videos are the same. Unique, emotional, detailed and creative. She made me want to work harder, become better in the emotional and creative area.

Clover27 - This chick can edit by masking and effects. I have been watching her videos since I joined youtube and my jaw completely dropped each time. So much emotion and...gosh words cannot even begin to explain why I love her videos. They are all so different, each has a story to tell. One of my favorite amvs of her is the LightingxTifa LOST Video. It was so amazing. Her amvs take my breath away.Thinking of her talents, creates the patience I need to mask and edit the way I thought of.

Criedcrimson - I have been watching her as long as I have been watching Clover. The way she uses her colors, places her clips along with the songs that she uses. It's all so dazzling. I strive to become better because of her videos.

MinasPassion - what is there NOT to admire about her videos? Her creativity is what caught my eye. The first video I have seen of hers was the FF7 REMAKE GOLD SAUCER SCENE. It made me smile, actually made me feel like I was there!! Also made me want to go replay FF7 and barge into Square Enix and tell them to remake the game!!!!!! Further on, I checked out the rest of her videos and was completely blown away. Every video was different. Words cannot even begin to explain what I felt in my heart as an editor to see such beautiful work.

Azukalockheart - Her videos always caught my interest. Her video, Flower of Friends. I believe the name was, inspired me to create a video of friendship. using her methods. She is a long time good friend, but I looked up to her before we ever chatted. I suggest you check out her videos.

3173master - Has anyone mentioned him yet? He is like a video editing GOD! His different use of clips to send out the same message in his videos just amazes me. He is very detail about the emotion of the video or song and it makes me stop and think "I never would have thought of that" his song "Bye bye" Made me want to cry. He is VERY creative, original and dedicated. I adore his videos.

11tiggers - her videos are very amazing. Something about her deep stories in her videos always leaves me in awe. or even if its an effect video. Still awesome! Her masking and ideas are so...OUT THERE! like, I never would have thought of it. She has been a long time inspiration. and is now one of my best friends =]

Feta19 - Her originality and creativity for her videos, the stories in them, and then way she edits them made me fall in love with her videos. I could tell she put a lot of time, effort, and dedication. and It created a lot of inspiration for me. I wish she would continue.

Brokedown - Always loved her videos. I love her way of coloring, editing, and placing the clips. Her videos are always so deep and emotional. what is there not to love?



Well...to top it all off...I would like to say that all of my friends as editors are my inspiration. but those I named were the ones who helped me become the editor I am now. I must keep getting better for... an artist doesn't have a limit. <3

Clover27, I've been following her videos for a while, years I think. She was one of the first editors I first really looked up to, editing-wise. Her masking, in particular pushed me to make mine better, cleaner, smoother. Granted, half the time I end up throwing away whole masks now, at least I'm trying. Both she and Spazzlings are very creative, which is, to me, very important, and something I strive to do.

Watching awsome videos just makes me want to do more myself!

I very often get inspired by other people, or books. Often when I read or hear a story that I like, I start thinking how great it would be to make a video with it, and then my mind starts making over-hours trying to figure out what it will be like.

Well, I have many inspirations. Some of my biggest ones are MentalProdigy (though I don't edit with manga much, it makes me want to do better on my own work), kheartsterra, zoyandra, SakiraChan (her masking is always so epic. And her stories are nice as well O: ), and memoiri. To me, she's like the Edgar Allan Poe of video editing. She twists everything so much that sometimes it's hard to wrap your mind around it |:< LOL. But she always has a little more meaning hidden in her videos and I love that.

Sometimes situations in life inspire me to edit. Sometimes it comes out as a vent vid |D I try not to vedit too much. I can't stand people who do that xD; But, I usually do find inspiration from my Skypetards. xD I think everyone who is a Skypetard will say the same thing.
