| So making the video is pretty hard (sometimes not but you know what I mean) but to me personally, the harderst part in making the video (technically not creatively) is rendering yes, rendering. I recently made a video out of boredom.....it's like 1-2 layer and 3 minutes long....I was done with it 3 days ago but I can't render the damn thing no matter what I do OTL I tried cutting up the pieces of video, I tried resting my computer and rendering it...no use and it got me to think other people would go through it too (or not, if they have really good computers XD) so let's talk about rendering experience what was your worst rendering experience? The longest time it took to render, and was it one layered or multi-layered? And how did you solve the problem each time you faced rendering issue? |

| I once made a 4 minute HD video and then it took 3-4 hours to render. And my HD vids usually take about 1 hour to render.
I think the 4 minute video took 3-4 hours to render because I did some intense stuff in it. xP
After that happened, I decided to reduce my video size to 640x360. |

| The worst thing that's ever happened to me was when I had a huge stress about rendering my best friend's birthday video. It only had two layers, I suppose, and I didn't even know about HD that time. Still it kept saying "error" and all that stuff. I even changed and removed some flashy parts of the video and tried again. No use. Then my mom told me to try to render it on a memory stick. I did and it rendered just fine. It was indeed my worst experience in vidding. At least for now. xD |

| @pikazoid: ONLY 3-4 hours?! O_O WOW!! That's your worst experience?! @xTipichan: yeah I know how stressful it is when you're making video for someone else and it's not rendering, I was going crazy once because my friend's b-day present wasn't rendering....after about 50 times rendering it worked though. |

| I don't render in HD anymore, so I usually dont have a problem with rendering. Generally it takes 20 minutes to an hour to render my videos.
I think the worst I had was like two hours but then I realized I had messed up and fixed the problem. It took like 20 minutes after that.
No HD = No long ass renders. Least for me. I <3 HQ. |

| mmm, I don't have a lot of bad rendering experiences. Only when I have a bad clip but, since I can no longer put mp4 files into Adobe. The longest time I can remember is 30 minuets. when I was rendering the newest project I was hosting, it had multiple layers. But, yeah. |

| Wow you guys render so fast. For a 1 minute 30 second video it takes me 3 hours For one of my ten minute videos with no effect or HD, it took 26 hours. And when I watched it, I messed up a few times so I had to re-render ant it took 29 hours after that. My computer is just outrageously slow |

| i used to have problems rendering in HD which took around 5 hours and sometimes when it reaches around 95%, it freezes. I swore that time I just gaped at the computer screen!! But after I reformatted my pc, it only took around 1-2 hours to render a 10 minute HD vid.
One problem solved. Here comes another one O.O Uploading.
God..one video takes around 2 hours to upload and youtube just hates me. It always freezes when its almost finished. I remembered one time I had to try uploading the same vid like 6 times a day in 2-3 days!! >.< |

| The longer my video, the longer it takes to render - 1 minute can be over an hour, so 3-4 minutes are 3-4 hours, and then with effects, things become closer to 6 or more hours. It's awful because I can't do ANYTHING else on my laptop as the time to render will grow - one moment it's 3 hours left, I open the internet and now it's 4 hours left... So many times too I've had something mess up during the render, or the render has been interrupted, rendering (ha! bad choice of words) all the time spent as useless... and like JulietProductions said above - then comes the uploading O_O that can be even worse sometimes!!! |

| I absolutely HATE rendering. Nowadays it doesn't take me so long to render stuff, but I've had times at which the rendering took about 10 hours. Hmm, but nobody can deny that even though Sony Vegas is awesome, it's also a pain in the ass. It has alot of glitches and errors o.O |

that's stressing
i remembered when i render a birthday video for my friend in HD . It took almost 1 hour to render a 1:30 video and it makes me go crazy after that ( cuz i'm very, very impatient ;; ) After i've changed my render settings, the longest rendering time i've experienced is 8 minutes; that's when i render a 2 minutes video with 13 tracks used . Other than that, such as my other one minute videos- it usually takes 1-4 minutes to render *.* |

| XD I used to complain about how long my rendering used to take...but now that Ive read some of these posts, I can see Ive been lucky! For a full video (3-4mins) it takes me about 45 minutes to one hour to render, never anything more than that. Mind you, since Im a big masker, I tend to pre-render a lot of my scenes, so in the end my videos never stray far from being three tracks. I suppose that helps. My computer isn't even very good...technically it shouldn't even be running, let alone doing anything with graphics. Its been good to me. A lot of people tend to blame Vegas for long-rendering times, but its most likely always the power of the computer running it. The program can only do what it can with the power that's given to it, ya know? --pats computer-- |

| Omg...you guys wouldn't believe my render hours. >.>
It is insane....but I have lots of layers and effects and all that jazz, on my videos. I wish my pc was fast, how it'd be great! xD I never rendered a video less than an hour....8l I used to render my videos in high settings, but I don't anymore, it'd be ridiculous.
For the most part it will take 2-4 hours, the highest I've rendered was....13 hours, baby. 8l *doesn't know whether to be proud or not* Imagine if I had my quality in HD. *passes out* And one thing I learned, if I color the video, it'd take extra 3-4 hours. 8l *throws coloring out the window*
But the hardest time I had rendering was a couple of videos, where SV would crash, or the electricity went out, and I would have to re-render the mo'fo multiple times with bad luck. *ARGGG* |

| I always kept it around 2-3 layers , since i mark alot as well , so it much be safer if finish that part and rend them out and then put everything together in the end .my pc tend to not behave when i have many things going on at the same time One time i did all the marking and effect in just one comp i ve about 10 layers or so , and during the rendering, its just die after 85 % and 10hs wait + the file crushed as well -> *die on the spot* Oh , i been in here for quite sometime, just sign up presently, nice to be here. |

| o_Oam I doing something wrong? My rendering time is about 10 minutes..sometimes less sometimes more. It could be that the computer that I use is pretty new. Or maybe I dun use as many layers But somehow I'm kinda jealous of your long rendering times xDDD I have no idea why. But then again I like that the rendering time is so fast coz my SV is the master of lagging so I need to check if the timing's right (etc.) by rendering. :3 |

| It really depends on how complex your videos are, how many effects, transitions, the length of the song/video you are using, the file types of each clip (for instance, .avi files are much bigger because they are uncompressed. It takes a lot more of the computer to play them back in a video program, like Vegas, and even more effort to render. Whereas using .wmv files is a little easier on the computer. Thats a compressed file, but the problem with compressing is that you lose quite a bit of quality in your video) Or, if your videos are complex and it only takes ten minutes to render, maybe you just have a wicked powerful computer! ___________________________________ ___________________________________ |

| Rendering for me is kinda fast now that I have a new computer
But as soon as you add motion blur, the rendering goes to like 3 hours.
I use a lot of layers and coloring when I edit and occasionally I'll need a motion blur here and there
Without motion blur, rendering is less than 20 minutes
With motion blur, render is about 3 hours or so.

| I once rendered a 1 minute preview with 4 layers in the quality the video will have later and it took 2 hours... 2 days ago I got a new pc.I took over the project cause I wanted to improve what I already got.when I had that part done it had 5 layers.I rendered it the same length and the same quality and it took me 12 minutes now I wonder how bad my old pc actually was... |
