I present to you, in association with I'm Vidding It!, the Springtime Contest. We are all waiting in anticipation for spring to come, and though it hasn't yet arrived, this contest has!



This contest is all about spring. Spring is all about the re-birth of everything that autumn and winter have killed, with the most gorgeous of flowers blooming again, and the temperatures rising.
In this contest, editors submit a video which can new or old (not older than 2 months) in which they use the theme 'spring'. This can be anything, by using a poem about spring, editing with spring-like clips, or with a storyline that revolves around spring.

It's all up to you what you come up with, as long as you stick to the theme.



The rules
1. Every kind of footage is allowed.
2. Stick to the theme of 'spring'
3. If you want to use an old video; It cannot be older than 2 months
4. Any editing program is allowed, but do keep in mind that we're not going to judge them differently, they will be judged like equal programs.
5. NO mep parts or MEP's! Collab parts or Beta's are allowed as long as they are longer than 1 minute.
6. Your video should be longer than 1 minute, and shorter than 4 minutes.
7. Post your entry as a video response to the video.



There are currently 4 judges, but the number might increase depending on the amount of entries. Your entry will be judged more than once, so you will get an average score.

Judging points:
- How well you show the theme in your video
- How you handle the flow and transitions
- How good the timing is
- How well you are able to get across your point
- How you handle your effects (this includes masking, text effects, sound effects, and your use of motion loops/textures/borders)
- Lastly, the memorability, which is basicly the impression the entry has left behind. This is the judge's personal opinion.

I wouldn't really join as a contestant. I'm no good at themes and such xD But if you need a judge, I'd be happy to join in.

I would love that. Say, since you're the expert on WMM and such, do you think I should put them in a seperate category, or let them be judged the same as Vegas?

Depends on what's going on when the contest is happening, but I'm pretty sure I'd join it. If I couldn't participate I'd be up for judging.

I'm not the expert. You should see me working on xml codes. O_O I'm hopeless.

But I think that non-professional programs should be in the same category. Maybe they have less of a chance but I think all programs should be judged equally.

We'd just have to find a nice solution because of masking and overlays and stuff like that. I'll think of something.
